Biryani
is a wonderful royal delicacies introduced to Indians by Mughals. Since then it
has been much popular and is considered to be a luxurious treat to enjoy on
special occasions.
Chicken
biryani is a highly aromatic and well-seasoned one pot dish originally from
India that has a perfect balance of chicken, rice and spices. It is a complete meal
in itself and suitable for all occasions.
Making
a chicken biryani in authentic dum style does take time and needs little
expertise. But the recipe shared here is a short cut method to make a simple
and quick one pot delicious chicken biryani in a cooker.
HOW
TO MAKE EASY AND QUICK CHICKEN BIRYANI
INGREDIENTS:
1. Chicken-500 gram
2. Basmati rice-2 cups
3. Curd-1/2 cup
4. Onions-2 big(sliced)
5. Tomatoes-2(chopped)
6. Ginger-garlic paste-2 tbsp
7. Turmeric powder-1 tsp
8. Cumin powder-1 tsp
9. Coriander powder-2 tsp

CHICKEN
BIRYANI RECIPE STEP BY STEP:
STEP-1: Heat oil in a pan and deep fry
the sliced onions. Fry the onion pieces till they become brown and crisp.
Transfer these to a plate and keep it aside.
STEP-2: Wash
the rice and chicken pieces properly.
STEP-3: Marinate the chicken pieces with curd,
ginger-garlic paste, salt, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and red
chilli powder for 30 mins.
STEP-4:
Take pressure cooker and heat 4tbsp oil with 2tbsp ghee in it. Add cloves, bay
leaves, cinnamon, cardamom and black peppers and saute for a while.
STEP-5:
Add marinated chicken in it and cook it till the masala is cooked properly.
STEP-6:
Then add chopped tomatoes, fried onions, green chilli, chopped coriander, chopped
mint and biryani masala and fry it till the tomatoes become soft and oil comes
out.
STEP-7:
Add 1 cup water and cover the pressure cooker with the lid till one whistle, so
that the chicken is 80% done (Other 20% will be cooked with rice).
STEP-8:
Open the lid of cooker and add washed rice, salt and required amount of water
to cook the rice. Let it cook till 2 whistles and leave it till the pressure is
removed.
STEP-9:
Open the lid of pressure cooker. You can see the delicious chicken biryani is
ready to serve.
