POHA CUTLET RECIPE
Poha cutlet is a cutlet or a
patty which is made from beaten rice or flattened rice or poha with besan or
boiled potato and other ingredients (Here I have used besan in stead of boiled
potato for binding). This cutlet is ideal for breakfast, evening snack, party
starter and kids’ snack.
Poha or flattened rice is an
ingredient that is easily available in every household and it can be used in
many ways. Making cutlets with them is a novel way of using them.
Poha cutlet is an easy and tasty
snack. It is easiest recipe to prepare compared to other cutlets and it is
healthy and nutrient snack compared to others.
INGREDIENTS:
1. Poha -2 cups
2. Besan-6 to 8 tbsp
3. Suji-2 tbsp
4. Tomatoes-2(Medium)
5. Onion-1(Big)
6. Green Chilli-4 to 5
7. Coriander Leaves-1/2 Cup
8. Mint Leaves-2 to 3 tbsp
9. Salt
10. Oil
11. Cumin Powder-1 tsp
12. Red Chilli Powder-1 tsp
13. Black Pepper Powder-1/2 tsp
14. Lemon Juice-1 tbsp
HOW
TO MAKE POHA CUTLET:
STEP-1:
Chop onion, tomatoes, green
chilli, ginger, coriander leaves and mint leaves and keep aside.Take poha in a bowl and wash it
properly. Drain the poha and dry it completely.
STEP-2: Add the poha in a bowl with
besan, suji, chopped onion, chopped tomatoes, chopped green chillies, chopped coriander
leaves and chopped mint leaves.
STEP-3: Then add all spices and salt in
it. Add lemon juice and mix it well. Mix the mixture by using hand. While
mixing, apply a little pressure and it will form into a dough shape.
STEP-4: Now take a small amount of the
dough in your hands and give it a shape of your choice.
STEP-5: Once you have made the all
cutlets, heat little oil in a tawa or fry pan. Once the oil is hot, arrange the
raw cutlets on the tawa or pan.let it cook for 1 to 2 mins.
STEP-6: After 1 min turn the cutlets up
side down and fry the cutlets till it becomes brown from both side.
STEP-7: Transfer the cutlets into a
plate and serve hot with chutney or tomato ketchup.
