CHILLI
GOBHI RECIPE/ CHILLI CAULIFLOWER
Chilli
gobhi is a popular Indo-chinese recipe. It is a quick and easy recipe, prepared
with cauliflower florets, onion, chillies, flours and lots of spices. In this
recipe cauliflower or gobhi is deep fried, tossed in a mild sweet and hot
sauce. It is crisp and delicious as a starter and goes well with pulaos and fried rice too.
The recipe of chilli gobhi is a
very simple and is made with very less ingredients. The main ingredients for
this recipe are cauliflower, corn flour, maida, onion, garlic, chilli, capsicum,
tomato ketchup, chilli sauce, soya sauce and vinegar. Firstly, make a thin
batter by using corn flour and maida in which the gobhi florets are dipped and
deep fried to prepare crispy gobhi fritters. Corn flour is used to make the
fritters crisp and to hold the shape. Then, these fritters are stirfried in
chilli sauce, soya sauce and tomato ketchup with onion and capsicum. Lastly, it
is garnished with spring onion and white sesame and served hot immediately.
INGREDIENTS:
1. Medium size cauliflower-1
2. Onion-2(medium)
3. Capsicum-1(big)
4. Maida(Refined Flour)-1/2 cup
5. Corn flour-1/2 cup
6. Ginger-garlic paste-1 tsp
7. Garlic (chopped)-1 tbsp
8. Green chilli(chopped)-1 tbsp
9. Chilli sauce-1 tbsp
10. Soy sauce-1 tbsp
11. Tomato ketchup-2 to 3 tbsp
12. Black pepper powder-1 tsp
13. Spring onion(chopped)-2 tbsp (for
garnishing)
14. White sesame-1 tsp(for garnishing)
HOW
TO MAKE CHILLI GOBI
STEP-1: To make this recipe, first wash the
cauliflower and the chop it into florets.
STEP-2: Heat water in a pan and boil the florets for
2 to 3 minutes with little salt. Drain the florets and keep aside.
STEP-3: Chop garlic, chillies and spring onion. Cut the
onion and capsicum into cube.
STEP-4: Now take a bowl and add corn flour, maida,
salt, ginger-garlic paste and chilli powder and mix well. Add water and make a
smooth batter.
STEP-5: Heat oil in a pan on medium flame. Dip the
florets in the batter and deep fry to make crisp gobhi fritters out of it.
STEP-6: Transfer the fritters to a plate and keep
aside.
STEP-7: Heat 2 tbsp oil in the same pan and add chopped
garlic and chillies. Saute for a while.
STEP-8: Then add onion cubes and capsicum cubes in
it. Let the onion and capsicum to cook 2 to 3 mins till it becomes half done or
the onion becomes transparent.
STEP-9: Add chilli sauce, soy sauce and tomato
sauce along with salt, vinegar, ½ tsp sugar and black pepper powder and little
water in it.
STEP-10: Make
a mixture of corn flour and water.
Add it to the mix and let it boil for a while. When the gravy becomes thick,
add cauliflower fritters and mix well.
STEP-11: Garnish with chopped spring onion and
transfer it into a serving bowl.
STEP-12: Sprinkle some white sesame on it and serve
hot.
HOW
TO MAKE CHILLI GOBI WITH STEP BY STEP PHOTO:
STEP-1: Wash the cauliflower and the chop it into

STEP-2: Chop garlic, chillies and spring onion. Cut the
onion and capsicum into cube.
STEP-3: Now take a bowl and add corn flour, maida,
salt, ginger-garlic paste and chilli powder and mix well. Add water and make a

STEP-5: Dip the florets in the batter and deep fry
to make crisp gobhi fritters out of it.
STEP-6: Remove the fritters and keep them on a plate.
STEP-7: Heat 2tbsp oil in the same pan and add chopped
garlic and chillies. Saute for a while.
STEP-8: Add capsicum and onions and saute.
STEP-9: Add chilli sauce, soy sauce and tomato
sauce along with salt, vinegar, ½ tsp sugar and black pepper powder and little
water in it.
STEP-10: Add corn flour and water mixture in it and
let it boil for a while. When the gravy becomes thick add cauliflower fritters
and mix well.
STEP-11: Garnish with chopped spring onion and white
sesame.Transfer it to a serving bowl.
