POTATO-CAPSICUM DRY CURRY/ ALOO-CAPSICUM RECIPE / ALOO-SHIMLA MIRCH RECIPE


ALOO- CAPSICUM RECIPE

                     Aloo capsicum or aloo shimla mirch recipe is a dry Indian curry, made with stir fried potatoes and capsicum. It is a quick, simple and lip smacking recipe that you can make for a quick lunch, dinner or pack into a lunch box.

                    Aloo capsicum recipe is a simple recipe to make and is a delicious vegetable that is cooked along with the basic ingredients that will be available in your kitchen any time.The flavors of roasted potato and capsicum along with simple masala make it delicious to it.

                    Aloo capsicum or aloo shimla mirch is a quick, simple and delicious recipe, goes well with all Indian roties like phulka, parantha, naan or kultha and it can be a great side dish with rice and dal.

INGREDIENTS:

·       Potatoes-3 medium.
·       Capsicum-3
·       Onion-1 big
·       Tomatoes-2 medium
·       Ginger-garlic paste-1 tbsp
·       Green chiilies- 3 to 4
·       Coriander powder-2 tsp
·       Cumin powder -1 tsp
·       Red chilli powder-1 tsp
·       Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
·       Garam masala powder-1/2 tsp
·       Chopped coriander leaves-2 tbsp
·       Cumin seeds-1/2 tsp

 MEHODS FOR PREPARING ALOO-CAPSICUM RECIPE:


STEP-1: Cut potatoes and capsicum into cubes.
STEP-2: Heat 1 tbsp oil and fry potato cubes till it becomes golden brown.
STEP-3: Again fry capsicum cubes with little oil and keep aside.
STEP-4: Heat 3 to 4 tbsp oil in a pan.Add cumin seeds and let it splutter.
STEP-5: Now add chopped onion in it and fry 1to2 minutes. After 2 minutes add ginger-garlic paste and cook till the raw smell of masala gone.
STEP-6: Then add chopped tomatoes and gree chillies and stir till tomatoes become soft .Then add all dry masalas and fry the masala till completely done.
STEP-7: Now add fried aloo and capsicum and stir for a while. Cover the lid and let it cook for 5 minutes. Stir it occasionally.
STEP-8: Add garam masala and mix well. (Don’t over cook the capsicum)
STEP-9: Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.

PREPARATION OF ALOO CAPSICUM WITH STEP BY STEP PHOTO


STEP-1: Cut potatoes and capsicum into cubes.

STEP-2: Heat oil in a pan.

STEP-3: Add potato cubes and salt and mix well.

STEP-4: cook it till it becomes golden brown.

STEP-5: Transfer the fried potatoes into a plate.

STEP-6: Heat little oil and fry capsicum cubes.

STEP-7: Transfer it to a plate.

STEP-8: Again heat 3 to 4 tbsp oil and add cumin seeds.

STEP-9: Add chopped onion and saute it for a while.

STEP-10: Add ginger garlic paste and saute.

STEP-11: After 2 minutes add chopped tomatoes and green chillies. Mix well.

STEP-12: Cover the lid and cook it for 2 to 3 minutes.

STEP-13: Remove the lid and add all dry masalas like coriander powder, cumin powder, red chilli powder and turmeric powder.

STEP-14: Fry the masala till the masala completely cooked. Add fried aloo and cook for a while.

STEP-16: Add fried capsicum and mix well.

STEP-17: Cover lid and cook for 8 to 10 minutes. Stir occasionally.

STEP-18: Remove the lid and add garam masala.

STEP-19: The dish is ready to serve. Transfer it to a serving bowl and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
